Description: This feature class was developed by the Atlanta Regional Commission Research Division, as part of the Atlanta Region Information System (ARIS). Name: Transit_Marta_Stations Source: The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Date: 2000 Extent: < 10 Counties (DeKalb and Fulton, plus Clayton) Feature: Point Scale: 1:63,360 Description: This Layer was originally created using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology where rail stations were captured as point locations at adjacent drives or parking lots. For the purpose of this CD, ARC's GIS Division adjusted many of the points to coincide with Transit_Marta_Rail and Transit_Marta_Bus, and to improve the positional accuracy against digital orthophotograhpy. ARC GIS also added the field "Stn_code" to indicate MARTA's abbreviation for each station (e.g. NE9 = the Chamblee station on the Northeast line). For more information, go to http://www.itsmarta.com.
